In 2000, Nicole had to take time off work for medical reasons, an autoimmune condition.  During this time, she regularly would lie on the floor and slowly breathe into her body and think healing thoughts.  She did recover and realized the importance of taking time to check in and listen to the body.   In 2018, during a very stressful time at work when Nicole couldn’t sleep or calm her mind, she returned to breathwork to help the body let go and navigate her situation.   Nicole became very interested in the body, the science of breathing, and how we can support our body to thrive.  Through numerous yoga, breathing, and science classes, Nicole continues to learn about how amazing the human body is and how we can subtly influence how we feel, move, and sleep.  Nicole loves sharing with and learning from others.

Nicole Carpenter is a certified Oxygen Advantage Breathwork Instructor, Buteyko Clinic Breathing Method Instructor, Yoga Instructor, and a Pranayama (yoga breathwork) Instructor.

Nicole wants to help humans gain skills to feel more connected and empowered by adjusting their breath.

Intentional breathing is a tool that you can use to better understand your body, increase your performance, and improve your health.  Through your breath you can access your nervous system and influence body systems that are generally considered subconscious.

Nicole is breathing educator and coach. Nicole can help you improve your respiratory stamina, balance your nervous system, and gain breath-based skills to influence your emotions and mental well-being. Through breathing biomechanics, biochemistry, rhythm, and sound, we can adjust how we feel and influence our overall health.

Nicole, an engineer by training, regularly explores ways to optimize a situation or a particular thing, including her body.  Over the years, she has learned much about how to keep herself healthy and functioning.  For Nicole, yoga, body movement, sleep, local foods, and mindful breathwork have created the foundation for a balanced and enriching life as she works and engages within her community.  Nicole wants to share her knowledge and help others understand the resources they have within their own body to live more fully.  Nicole wants to help you feel better, move better, sleep better, and think better.  Nicole wants to help you gain the skills you need to live and age gracefully.  Our bodies do change overtime and with some tools you can help the body adapt and support itself regardless of what life throws at you.

Since 2020, Nicole has spent much of her spare time diving deep into breath, trying different breathing techniques, feeling the impact in her personal life, taking human physiology courses, learning about our nervous system, and reading as many books as she can find on various breathing styles.  In 2021, she completed a Wim Hof breathing course (and jumped in cold-water).  In 2022, she became a certified Oxygen Advantage instructor and, in the summer of 2022, will complete a 200-hour Pranayama Certificate through Yoga Vermont.

Nicole became hooked on yoga in 1997 as she entered the professional computer desk jockey world.  She would run in the morning and do yoga after work before dinner.  When she didn’t do yoga, her body hurt.  When she does yoga, she feels lighter, more fluidity, and happier.   For 20 years, Nicole explored the world of yoga, with Ashtanga, Hatha, Hot Yoga, Therapeutic, Vinyasa, and Pranayama drawing her in more.  She greatly appreciates the body awareness and variety of tools yoga provides to ground, uplift, or stabilize her each day.  In 2022, she became a Yoga Alliance approved 200-hour certified yoga instructor by completing an 8-month training program with Evolution Physical Therapy and Yoga in Burlington, Vermont.

After 25 years working in engineering, climate action, and management, Nicole is shifting her energy to focus more on people and wellness.  Human beings are the main driver in our global ecosystem and if we feel better and are healthier, maybe we’ll be better stewards of the Earth.  Our body, our mind, and our health are intimately intertwined.  Through running, hiking, yoga, cold water immersion, and breathing Nicole has increased her understanding of how her mind and body work, and what is needed to live life more fully than she has in the past.  Nicole is always learning, discovering more about others, the world, and how she wants to participate in life. She would like to help you learn more about your body, your nervous system, and gain some tools to help you live your life as you would like. Knowledge is a two-way activity. She also is regularly inspired by and learns from those with whom she works.
